Cooktop Repair in Houston
We repair Kenmore and Kenmore Elite gas, electric radiant and smooth-top cooktops. If one burner, zone or knob stops working, we test that circuit or igniter specifically rather than replacing the whole top.

Common cooktop problems we fix
In the order we see them across Houston homes.
One burner will not ignite
Radiant zone heats slowly or not at all
Knob turns but burner clicks forever
Glass top cracked or heavily scratched
Indicator light on after zones are off
Burner flame yellow or uneven
A Kenmore cooktop may be a stand-alone gas or electric unit or a smooth top built into the counter, and many were built by a partner manufacturer. The prefix before the dot, such as 790., identifies the platform, which tells us what an igniter, switch or radiant element looks like and which one is the correct replacement.
In Houston kitchens, humidity and grease affect cooktops quickly. Gas burner caps and ports clog when boiled-over food dries into them, igniters corrode where the air stays damp, and glass tops develop pitting from sugar spills that were heated rather than wiped. Rentals that change hands often show this kind of buildup.
We start with the supply, whether gas or electric, then test the single burner, igniter or zone that is acting up, check the switch behind the knob, and inspect the wiring that connects them. Poor flame color and a click that will not stop have different causes, so we explain which one applies to yours.
Why Houston owners call us

What if the glass top has cracked?
The glass itself has to be replaced, and we advise leaving the cooktop off, since liquids can reach the wiring below. We can confirm the damage and the correct part from the model label.
Why is just one burner dead?
A single failure points to that burner's igniter, switch, element or wiring rather than the whole cooktop. Testing that one circuit is faster and cheaper than replacing the set.
Is a yellow flame a problem?
A flame that is mostly blue is normal. Yellow or uneven flames can come from clogged ports or an air-mixture issue. Because gas is involved, we inspect it and explain the adjustment or cleaning needed.
