Microwave Repair in Houston
We repair Kenmore and Kenmore Elite microwaves, including over-the-range and countertop models. When it spins but stays cold, sparks, or goes dark, we test the safety switches and high-voltage parts with care.
Common microwave problems we fix
In the order we see them across Houston homes.
Runs and spins but food stays cold
Sparking or popping inside the cavity
Display lit but keypad does not respond
Turntable stuck or rattling
Door will not latch or stay shut
Over-the-range fan or light not working
Kenmore microwaves, especially over-the-range models, are built by partner manufacturers, and the model prefix tells us who. That decides which door switch, control board or fan motor fits and how the control reports a problem. Because these models vent over a cooktop, grease and steam also play a part in what we see.
In Houston kitchens the over-the-range style takes on moisture and cooking residue every day. Grease clogs the filter and fan, humidity affects keypads and touch panels, and a mounting bracket that was loosened during an earlier repair may leave the unit slightly out of position, affecting how the door closes.
We check the door switches and latch first, because a microwave deliberately shuts down if it senses an open door. Then we test the heating chain, the control and the turntable, and review the fan and light on over-the-range units. Where a high-voltage part is involved we handle it with proper discharge, and explain the finding before any replacement.

Can I check the inside of my microwave myself?
Please do not open the case. A microwave stores dangerous high voltage even after it is unplugged. You can check that the turntable and rings are seated and that the door closes cleanly, and leave the rest to us.
Why does it run but not heat?
A door switch, magnetron, diode or capacitor can each stop heating while the fan and light carry on. They look alike from outside, so testing decides the part.
Does an older microwave justify a repair?
It depends on what failed. A switch, light or turntable motor is a modest repair, while a high-voltage part may cost more than the unit is worth. We tell you the written price before work begins.
