What F010 / F011 (790-prefix, four-digit) means
Electrolux built the four-digit code platform used on Kenmore ranges with model numbers starting 790. Here F010 is a runaway temperature, meaning the oven has climbed past 600 degrees F and is still rising, and F011 is a stuck key on the control panel. They are unrelated codes that happen to sit side by side. With F010 you may smell hot metal or see the oven shut itself down. With F011 you may see a panel that acts as though a button is held in.
Common causes of F010 / F011 (790-prefix, four-digit)
- For F010, the oven sensor and the relay that switches heat
- For F010, the control board holding the heat on
- For F011, a key that is pressed in or soaked
- Harness connection between the panel and the board
1. If F010 shows, turn the oven off at the controls and keep the door closed so it cools slowly. 2. If the range is gas and you smell gas, leave the house and call the gas utility from outside. 3. For F011, look for a button pressed in or wet from a spill, then dry the panel gently. 4. After the oven is cool, cut power at the breaker for 30 seconds and restore it. 5. If F010 returns, do not use the oven again until we check it.
- A runaway temperature is a safety condition, so we do not simply reset it and move on
- We check the sensor, the heat relay, and the board in sequence
- For F011 we separate a wet or stuck key from a panel problem, with a written price first
Other Range codes
How serious is F010?
It is the more serious of the pair, because the oven kept heating past its limit. Turn it off, let it cool with the door shut, and call us before baking again.
What causes F011?
The panel believes a key is held down. Moisture under the glass, a swollen key, or a loose connection can cause it. Drying the panel sometimes helps, but a repeat means a test.
What should I have ready?
Tell us which code showed and whether the oven felt or smelled unusually hot. For F010 we treat it as a safety call, test the heat circuit, and give a written price before any repair.
