What F32 / F35 means
On Kenmore HE5 and HE5 Steam front-load washers whose model numbers start with 110., a Whirlpool-built platform, F32 and F35 both report a water level sensor failure. The sensor tells the main electronic control board how deep the water is, and without a dependable reading the washer cannot fill or drain to the right level. You will see F32 or F35 on the display and the cycle may stop at the fill or wash step. These codes are not listed for the HE2.
Common causes of F32 / F35
- Loose or damaged wiring between the main control board and the water level sensor
- Water level sensor that returns a bad reading
- Level sensing input on the main electronic control board
1. Check that both water faucets behind the washer are open and the hoses are not kinked. 2. Look at the drain hose for a kink that could keep water in the tub. 3. Run a short cycle and watch the fill. 4. Leave the panels closed. Sensor wiring is for us to test.
- Whether the sensor, its wiring or the board is giving the wrong value
- Whether the tub holds the water level it should
- Whether the washer can safely run until the repair

Do F32 and F35 point at the same sensor?
It means the water level sensor failed. On this Whirlpool-built platform the control relies on it to stop filling at the right depth, so it halts the cycle and displays the code.
Is F35 any different from F32?
Both codes name the same water level sensor, so we treat them as one problem. We test the sensor and its wiring before we look at the control board.
Could my HE2 show these codes?
No. F32 and F35 are listed only for HE5 and HE5 Steam. An HE2 washer with a different code is a different story, so confirm your model number first.
