On Kenmore front-load washers whose model numbers start with 110, a Whirlpool-built platform sold as HE2, HE2 Plus, HE5 and HE5 Steam, F11 means a motor control board failure. This board runs the drive motor, taking its orders from the main electronic control board over a wire harness. When the board stops working or the harness link is damaged, the drum cannot be driven. The owner sees F11 and a cycle that halts, sometimes with water inside.
