It means the door lock failed its check. The control commanded the lock to latch or release and did not get the confirmation it expected, so it stopped and displayed F22.

Can a loose wire cause F22?

Yes, on this Whirlpool-built platform the lock assembly is wired to the main control board, and a poor connection can look the same as a bad lock. We check the harness first and then the lock itself.
