Common causes of E41 / E43 / E45 / E47 / E48 / E4A
- Door not fully closed or something caught in it
- Wiring harness between the door lock and board

1. Open the door, check for clothing caught in the seal and close it firmly. 2. Look for anything on the door latch area stopping it from closing. 3. Press Start again after the door is closed. 4. Do not take off the front panel or the lock assembly.
- Whether the lock assembly, the harness or the board is the weak link
- We check the harness connections before replacing the lock
- After a lock replacement we recheck the door cycle to confirm it holds
Other Washer codes
Which of these codes are digital only?
E41, E45 and E4A appear only on the digital-display model from 2014 onward, so tell us your panel style. E43, E47 and E48 appear on the standard version as well.
Is the door lock a safety device?
Yes. The washer should not run or spin unless the door is locked, so these codes mean the lock circuit is not reporting correctly, and we do not bypass it.
Should I force the door?
No, please do not force it. Call us and we will open it properly. Forcing a door can break the latch and hide the real cause of the code.
