What F70 / F71 means

Kenmore HE5 and HE5 Steam front-load washers whose model numbers start with 110. come from a Whirlpool-built platform. F70 and F71 report no communication between the main electronic control board and the user interface control, the panel with your buttons and display. You will see the code on the display, or a panel that behaves oddly. The codes are not listed for the HE2, and F70 means something different on the Oasis top-load: overloaded.

Is F70 the same as overloaded on my top-load?

No. On the Oasis top-load, F70 means overloaded. On the HE5 front-load it is a communication code. Always check the model-number prefix and the washer type before reading a code from the web.
